The Basics on Useful Attributes

The Basics on Useful Attributes

These are much like the Stats mentioned earlier, but more defined than them. Most Stats contribute to these following Attributes. Some of these Attributes are very important to the Hunter. Those that are have been listed below.

Ranged Attack Power

This Attribute increases the base damage done by the Hunters ranged weapon. Seeing as this makes up the largest amount of the Hunters damage it is a very important Attribute to stack up on.

Hit Rating

The higher the Hunters Hit Rating the less likely the Hunter is to miss. The higher level the target is than the Hunter, the more Hit Rating is needed in order not to miss. Missing less means a higher damage output, which is very important to the Hunter. Remember that there is always a certain point where you can no longer miss and any more added Hit Rating will be of no further benefit.

Critical Strike Rating

The more Critical Strike Rating, the more chance you have to land a critical strike on your target. Simple. Critical Strikes deal larger amounts of damage than normal ones but also generate more threat. Having a higher percentage to crit means you will deal more damage.

Mana Per Five Seconds

Mana Per Five Seconds is similar to Spirit. The total of this attribute is regenerated back onto your mana every five seconds. Unlike Spirit, casting will not interrupt this regeneration. It is a far better to stack up on this rather than on Spirit, if you run out of mana too quickly in long fights.

Haste Rating

Haste Rating increases the speed of your firing rate. It basically lowers the speed stated on your ranged weapon but without lowering the damage it does. This means that you’ll be able to do exactly the same damage, only in a smaller period of time.

Armour Ignore

This attribute reduces the amount of amour the target has against the Hunter. This means your target decreases how much physical damage he mitigates against you. This is an attribute to consider along with others for end game purposes.

Armour

Amour reduces the damage taken by the Hunter from various physical attacks. The higher your armour total the higher percentage of damage is ignored. Armour does not reduce magical damage. Amour is primary attribute for melee classes and not for Ranged.

Resilience

Resilience is primarily an attribute for PvP. It reduces the chance that physical and magical effects will critically hit you, as well as reducing the damage they deal when they do. It also reduces mana drain effects and lowers damage taken by damage over time effects. Although not really helpful in normal play, this attribute is key to stack up on for PvP.

Dodge

Dodge is similar to Armour. When you face a physical attack you have a chance to fully avoid all damage by dodging it. However, you cannot dodge attacks from behind. Dodge is not an attribute to stack up on, yet is gained through Agility.

Parry

Parry is similar to Dodge, allowing the Hunter to block all melee damage from the front and sides. However, unlike Dodge you must have your melee weapon or weapons drawn in order to Dodge. Parry is not an important Attribute to collect.

Expertise

Expertise makes it harder for your target to dodge or parry your attacks. However it does not apply to ranged attacks so it makes this attribute more or less useless for Hunters.

Spell Power

Spell Power increases the damage and healing affects of spells. Most of the Hunters shots and attacks are considered physical attacks, meaning the Attribute gives no real bonus. Even those will magic effects such as Arcane Shot and Mend Pet will not be affected by spell power. The only Hunter abilities that are affected by this Attribute are traps, making this Attribute worthless to the Hunter.

Conclusion

Attack Power and Critical Strike Rating are the two main Attributes for a Hunter to stack up on. These two will improve the Hunters damage output the most. Hit Rating is also a very important attribute to have the right total of in order not to miss a target. After these three, Haste Rating and Armour Ignore are the next best to increase damage output. Mana Per Five Seconds is also an important Attribute, if you find yourself running out of mana too quickly.
